[Continued from 'Skirmish at Saks Fifth Avenue'...]It took Anna ten minutes to cross town, mostly since she was continually stopping to make sure her passenger wasn't going to fall off her shoulder, but the time had dragged by; she felt almost like the wind was trying to force her back from the tower as she got closer...and it was sorely tempting to just turn around and head somewhere else. When her superiors - Hawkeye, Stature, whoever else was around - heard about what had happened at Saks, they'd be beyond angry. Heck, they might just bump her right back down to student status, and the thought of having to explain that to her mother was utterly mortifying. But Anna kept going. No running away, she chided herself. I'm better than that. As she closed in on the building proper, feeling a little chill as she passed into its shadow, her identicard was quietly scanned and accepted by the tower's sensor net, and a moment later, two side-by-side windows slid open, letting Anna slip inside. Touching down and dropping her captive Scorpion knockoff before lowering Eddie gingerly across a nearby coffee table, she attracted only passing stares from the Stark employees hurrying back and forth - they'd no doubt seen stranger things here. Crouching beside Eddie, Anna rested the back of her hand against his cheek; even through her gloves and the Anti-Venom 'skin' he felt too hot, but at least he didn't seem to be any worse than he was when he collapsed. It was a minor comfort, but it was all she had. Just don't go dying on my watch, please. I'm in enough trouble already. With a sigh, she stood back up, reaching for the identicard tucked away inside one of her gauntlets. She noticed that the Scorpion seemed to have woken up; its helmet turned from side to side as it shook its head groggily. "Uh-uh, not here!" snapped Anna before firmly kicking it on the chin, sending it right back to sleep again. Finding her card, she opened up a team-wide comms channel and marked it with a code yellow priority symbol, then spoke. "Warbird to all points, I have one captive and one WIA team member at Stark Tower, 25th floor..." She could hear her own echo coming from Eddie - at least he hadn't lost his own card anywhere. "Requesting medical attention as priority one and tech analysis as priority two. That means you, Doc Banner. Warbird out." Letting her hand drop to her side, Anna bit her lip and waited for a response...

Kate Bishop was not amused. Arms folded, she stood by her desk looking down at her computer screen. Already there was news coming in off an attack taking place at Saks Fifth Avenue, and when news came in this fast it was never good. Kate wasn’t sure how badly things had gone, but her intuition was telling her to prepare herself. She groaned and ran a hand through her hair. Of course a thing like this had to happen when her YA team-mates were off on missions spreading far and wide. Of course it did.
Sighing, she tried to think what the reports were going to be like. Was anyone injured? God forbid… Hopefully everyone in all the labs and floors would be prepared for what was coming. They usually were, Kate had to say that. Perhaps it was all the practice they usually ended up having.
Still looking down at her computer screen, she heard the voice of one Annabelle Danvers. Eyes closed she took in the report. Everything about the short report there she would have to try and remember – a captive, and an injured team-mate. And Anna’s voice was… She was trying to be strong; Kate had to give her that. There was defiance in her voice, but on a couple of notes it had wavered. Taking in a deep breath, she began to head out her office.
”Just another day at the Avengers…” she muttered softly, as she headed out into the hall. Making her way to the elevator, she hoped Doc had heard the call. It sounded like they were going to need all the help they could get.
When the elevator dinged, Kate strode in alone. No one else was inside, and she was the only one on her floor that needed to go up the few flights to the 25th. Sighing, she leant against the back wall, eyes trained on the carpeted floor. Stupid reddy carpet. ”Of course this had to happen when everyone else was out,” she repeated again, just as the elevator slowed to a stop.
Straightening up, she was out the doors as soon as they opened, and immediately she worked out where to go. It was pretty obvious. There was Eddie, Anti-Venom (the second, mustn’t forget that), and Scorpion, both seemingly out for the count. Hopefully it wasn’t fatal, but Eddie didn’t seem in the best of shape.
And there was Warbird, standing next to them. Walking over briskly, she tried to take in all the little details, hopefully there was a saving grace here somewhere. They did bring in Scorpion after all but… Kate’s eyes turned to Anna’s once more. ”So, exactly what happened here?” she questioned, lightly. There wasn’t anger, or annoyance in her voice. And even inside Kate was quite calm at the moment. She couldn’t afford to get angry here when she was the only “superior in terms of leadership” Avenger around. And after what had happened no one here needed to become more upset than they already were.

Anna thought that the waiting would be the hard part - that sensation of carrying a ten-ton anvil in your gut as you watch the time tick by in slow motion, all the while knowing what's coming will break you into tiny pieces. And, yes, it did suck.
Then she saw Hawkeye coming around the corner, and that was worse. She'd been hoping - praying! - for Stature to be around; she was mellowed-out and understanding, and even if she did wind up kicking Anna off the team, at least she wouldn't yell about it. But, Hawkeye? You could never take the chance of catching her in a good mood. And even if you did, you couldn't count on it lasting longer than 30 seconds at most. What did I do so wrong in a past life to deserve this?
Turning to face her superior more fully, Anna drew her shoulders back and stood straight, fighting to erase any trace of unease from her expression - and to stop herself from throwing out a "Ma'am". That did not go down well last time.
Hawkeye took a moment to look over the whole scene - Anna edged more closely to Eddie's side out of instinct as she did - then spoke. "So, exactly what happened here?"
She doesn't sound mad...yet. Anna cleared her throat, and decided to simply get it all out of the way as fast as she could. "Right. See. There was this...I was flying through town, right, and I heard about an armed robbery at Saks on my wrist-thingy. Do you know about my wrist-thingy? That's not important. So I busted on in there and beat up the guys - none of the shoppers got hurt or anything - but I think one of them triggered a radio or a silent alarm or something, because then two big Scorpion-looking guys - and I know, I know I said 'two' and you're thinking 'but there's only one here', but I left the other one with the cops so it's being sent to the Raft - " I hope " - and they started attacking me, but then Anti-Venom swung in - I think he'd followed them but I'm not sure - and we fought them, and we won...of course we did, since we're still here and breathing..." Anna noticed she was fidgeting, wrapping her fingers together into knots, and forced her hands behind her back instead. "...but the Scorpions had some sort of, I guess, cryogenic cannons in their tails, which hurt me, and they also had something Ed - um, Anti-Venom called 'Osborn's Cure' which interfered with his powers somehow, and that got me thinking, y'know - if they'd only had weapons that work against my...weaknesses, that could be coincidence, but just happening to be loaded with anti-Anti-Venom serum as well? They must've been planning this, or there's someone out there who knows a whole lot about our team and what we can do, and they're selling that info to all kinds of undesirables..."
Anna paused and glanced at Eddie as she took another breath. She figured she'd at least covered enough ground to not make this look like a total screw-up. "So...we beat them anyway, but then Eddie collapsed - he said it might have to do with him being part-symbiote instead of just...wearing the suit, I guess. Then he passed out, and the suit went like it is now, maybe on stand-by or something." Or maybe like a coma. She couldn't tell, really. All Anna knew one way or another was..."We beat the bad guys, and no civilians got hurt - but whatever happened to Eddie, it's, it's my fault. I should've been more careful against the Scorpions, found a way to deal with them more securely, and without putting my team-mate in this kind of danger. I am ready and willing to receive any reprimand you deem necessary, Hawkeye. Just...just leave Anti-Venom out of the disciplinary proceedings, that's all I ask. His only mistake was putting his trust in me."
Her throat felt dry and raw, and she had to force herself not to shiver or let her lip wobble in dismay. Looking straight ahead through glassy eyes, Anna braced herself for the inevitable storm...

(OOC: His dream is represented in Italics.) Dreams are never easy. They can cause discomfort, anger and even depression. For Edward Brock Junior, his dreams were reality for him right now. Due to the effects of both the repeated injections of Osborn's Cure and the strain his symbiote had caused him, his nervous and immune system had both been affected, causing him severe pain and forcing him into an unconscious state. The fact his symbiote had come forth was helping to speed up his recovery, but it would still be a while before he was fully healed up. Within the next half an hour, he'd wake up. If he was forced to wake up, he'd be sort of okay, having a fever and be sick. However, reality was not what was worrying the young man right now. It was his dreams, which were currently reality for him.
Panting for air, Eddie was terrified. The landscape was changing with every passing minute, and even his Symbiote form was beginning to be affected. It was constantly changing from the normal White Symbiote into a more feral and Black Symbiote. And that was the fear that Eddie possessed. That his symbiotic DNA would be taken over by the Venom Symbiote if it ever bonded with him or attempted to, forcing him to commit atrocities and crimes against nature and his very moral code. Eddie shook his head, and looked at his symbiote. It had stabilized, back into its normal white colour. However, a roar broke him out of this.
Groaning, Eddie shook his head, trying to force his body to jump start his need to wake up. But, his mind was too enthralled and drawn into the dream, and his head continued to move from side to side.
Looking around in fear, Eddie knew that something was here with him. But his refined Spider-Sense couldn't pin point it. Was it because it was genetically similar to his symbiote? He had no way of knowing. Moving in the sound of the roaring, Eddie looked up, and he saw a sight he had hoped never to come face to face with. Venom. It was Venom. And he looked extremely feral. He looked like Eddie Jr did when he lost control of his mental stability, but even more feral, with a extended tongue and its muscle mass compareable to a Hulk. The Venom leapt at him, and Anti-Venom barely managed to jump to the side. Looking at the symbiote, he roared “LEAVE ME ALONE!”
Outside of the dream, Eddie, still unconscious, said in despair “No. Venom, leave me alone.” His hands flexed, the claws at the edge of them seemingly more pronounced than they had been a minute ago. Anyone within earshot would be able to tell the young hero was having a nightmare. And a really life like one at that. For Eddie's mind, these dreams were reality.
Venom leapt towards his “Nephew.” Eddie considered his symbiote to be the son of the original Anti-Venom, making him the nephew of Venom and a sort of family relation to the symbiotes that had spawned from Venom and from Carnage. Leaping to the side, Anti-Venom forced his hands into blades and leapt at Venom, slashing at his chest. While the symbiote swords pierced, the Symbiote managed to heal itself within seconds. And then a strand of tentacles grabbed him around the neck from behind. Gasping, Anti-Venom wondered why he had not sensed it with his Symbiote Spider-Sense, but he needed to escape. Looking behind him, he saw that it was Scream, the daughter of Venom. Venom's mask unravelled, and Eddie's did as well as he saw who it was, and he was horrified. Edward Brock Senior! He had bonded to the Venom symbiote once again, something he had told Eddie Jr he never would do. Snarling, the symbiote possessed Eddie Sr said “Prepare to die son!” and with that, he grabbed Eddie Junior by the head, and broke his neck, which would extinguish the life of Edward Junior Brock....
A roar erupted from Eddie's lips as his unconscious mind and body was jump started back into a conscious state and back into true reality. Leaping off of the coffee table he was laying on, he pivoted swiftly, looking all around. But it had just been a dream. His body had been forced to leave it recovering, comatose state to save him, as his mind would have died if he had died in the dream. The symbiote retracted, and Eddie collapsed once again. Taking several deep breathes, he said quietly “Sorry. My dream was Reality for me, and I almost died in it. In fact, I did die. But, I woke up just as I died.”

Glancing at Eddie for a second, Kate once again hoped that the medical team arrived quickly. There was no other emergency on at the time, there was no valid reason for them to be late. When ever any alert was called everyone had to be ready. With an inaudible sigh, Kate turned her back to face Anna.
Throughout the explanation she remained silent, just trying to take it all in. It was a lot of information to receive at one time, and she tried to sort through it carefully but quickly. Of course some points stood out more than others… ”At any point did you call in to ask for back-up? …Or think about it, even?” Kate inquired, her voice still calm at the moment. Of course, this was just the calm before the storm. It seemed to her that yes, things could have gone worse. But with one team-mate injured, and another Scorpion quite possibly not sent to the Raft, things could have gone a whole lot better. ”There are always people here ready to send out and provide assistance. Now, I know, I know that you think yourself entirely capable and I know that that’s quite possibly the case in most situations. But you always call for back-up. You should always get help, even if the situation at the start was just a robbery! Things can turn from to worse in the blink of an eye! And though you survived this time, there were dozens of ways that could have ended badly! …It has ended badly for Anti-Venom.” She paused, taking in a deep breath and looking around. ”Then, you work out that this just isn’t a random attack and what did you do? Just carry on? …Perhaps because you hadn’t called in earlier getting the situation over with then was the best idea. But what if others were lying in wait?”
She really could go on all day – or at least another hour – about protocols and staying safe. In fact, Cass or any of those others had been around she’d have kept shouting – and this time, properly shouting – but they weren’t. And she had to handle this calmly because she was the only one who could handle it at all. She ran a hand through her hair, ”Well, I guess we should be glad that you aren’t injured or captured. And we’ll call the fact that you got that pair back here your saving grace. But perhaps a little less pride and a little more asking for help would be better next time.” And perhaps that pride comment had been low.
But Kate was worried. Many Avengers were out and about and a couple of teams hadn’t checked in. Worry number one. Then, this. The situation had started out pretty low-risk and if nothing else had happened apart from the armed robbery then the incident would have just passed – so, Anna didn’t ask for back up, she didn’t need it. But things had gotten worse, and now Kate was feeling guilty that Anna was now worried and upset, and she was guilty that she hadn’t been there to help. She was worried that things could have gone badly and people – innocent people – could have gotten hurt. There was Eddie! Looking… Kate blinked, looking over at Eddie who was groaning and shaking his head. Not a good sign. ”Come on medical team,” she muttered under her breath as she took a step closer. There wasn’t anything she could do, but if he got too restless… her and Anna would have to step in.
She blinked as a… a roar, that was the best way to describe it, fled from his lips but otherwise should no other outward signs of surprise. Inside, she was reeling. Just what was going on? Was it pain? Nightmares? Where was that gorram medical team?!
And then Eddie started talking, quite quietly but otherwise quite matter-of-factly, and said that he had died. ”…That’s not quite what I’m wanting to hear from the pair of you.” What was wrong with Eddie? Just calmly talking of death? And his dreams were reality? This was not her day, or week. God….

As soon as Kate mentioned calling for help, Anna tried to butt in, but the older girl kept talking and she bit her tongue instead, and continued to squirm through the first part of what she fully expected to be a very long dressing-down.
Perhaps because you hadn’t called in earlier getting the situation over with then was the best idea. But what if others were lying in wait?”
Sensing a gap in Kate's rant, Anna leapt on it, raising her left arm - and its attached computer/comms-rig - and pointing to it, and the '1 message pending' sign, with her right hand. "Sir, I was gonna call, I was, but then Anti-Venom turned up and...and..." Her voice trailed off. And I figured two-on-two would be good enough odds for us, so I just left it at that, she finished in her head. That kind of thinking was exactly what Kate was mad about, and sure as hell wouldn't cut any mustard as an excuse.
As it happened, Kate wound down her accusals after that, a soft sigh escaping her lips. She does look pretty tired, actually...Anna wondered momentarily what the cause of that could be, but the question was washed aside by a rush of relief as she realised that, somehow, she wasn't going to hang for this mess. Keeping her back straight and her face serious, Anna murmured "Thankyou, Hawkeye," in a voice almost cracking from the sudden strain. She felt like crying. She felt like hugging Kate. She wouldn't, though. Kate would punch her, and probably break most of the bones in her hand. That would put a downer on things, and I re-e-eally don't need more of those today.
Just then, she heard a mumble from Eddie, and sneaked a glance to him...then frowned in alarm, noticing how he was kicking and writhing desperately, as if trying to fend off some invisible attacker. "Uhm...Anti-Venom?" The boy continued flailing, and talking to himself - did he just say Venom? Like, the ACTUAL Venom? Black-suit bad-guy Venom? - and then, suddenly, snapped to his feet with a yell. Anna couldn't help it; she jumped out of her at-ease stance, then stepped forwards and gripped Eddie by the shoulders, trying to make eye contact even as his eyes spun this way and that erratically. "Eddie - EDDIE! Calm down, okay? You're in Stark Tower, you're safe. There's no...there's no Venom here. Okay?" She waited a beat...and then the Anti-Venom symbiote retracted fully, and Eddie seemed to relax, much to her relief.
And then he collapsed again. "Whoa - !" She almost tripped over as the boy slipped out of her loose grip, but caught herself in time before crouching down on her haunches beside Eddie. Up close, he still looked sickly, but at least he was awake. Then he started talking, and her feelings of dread returned. What the hell is he talking about? "You - wait, you died? Is that a normal symbiote thing, or...?" Anna looked up at Kate, but she didn't seem to have any clue what that was about, either.
A sudden bustling from the other end of the hallway made Anna look up; the medical team was hurrying towards them - finally! - with five doctors and a wheeled crash-cart stretcher between them. No Doc Banner, though...he's probably locked up in his lab somewhere, getting excited over a submolecular donut or something, Anna thought to herself huffily, then immediately felt guilty. As the medics got closer, Anna lifted Eddie gently off the floor and placed him on the stretcher, then turned to the closest doctor. "He was injected several times with something called 'Osborn's Cure' - it's tied in with the symbiotes, especially the first Anti-Venom." Looking back to Eddie, Anna patted his shoulder gently and smiled. "Mandatory bed-rest for a day. That means no sneaking off to swing about the city when we're not looking, okay?" And then, leaning in a little closer and letting her voice drop to a conspirational whisper - "Unless it's an emergency or you're bored."

Eddie said weakly “I know we are in the tower....” Hearing the name Venom being mentioned caused him to grab his head, the monstrous roars from his father in the dream still echoing in his mind. He had even caught a glimpse of Scream, and he was even more freaked out. Both his parents, bonded to murderous, and monstrous symbiotes, had attempted to kill him in his dream. In fact, they had succeeded, and only the fact that his mind had been forced to jump start his consciousness was why he was not in a coma. Looking at the ground, he felt something he had tried to repress for so long, a basic human emotion that he tried hard not to show and made sure he didn't show. Fear.
Fear was contagious and infectious, causing terror and paranoia for so many people. And only now did Eddie show fear.....Fear due to his dreams, and the things he hoped would never happen and the things that were just possibilities. Scrubbing his face, he looked as if he was trying to rip his skin apart and cause himself physical injury. He stopped, however. His sickness due to the last hour or so was beginning to worsen. While he had been on the mend due to his symbiote coming forth and using its healing powers, the fact that his body had been forced out of that was what was causing him to worsen, due to his body having to re awaken so fast that it didn't have the proper time to waken up and replenish the damage done.
Looking up at Anna and Kate, Eddie noted there confusion and he began his explanation after Anna asked if dying was a symbiote thing. “It's not that I physically died, otherwise I would be dead. In the dream, which for me was reality due to the delirium and negative effects of the attacks on my DNA, immune and nervous systems due to the Osborn's Cure. Reality and Dreams switched place. My dreams were Reality, and Reality was a dream. I couldn't wake up. In my dream, the landscape continuously changed and so did my symbiote. It changed from the white and slightly feral shape it is usually in, to a black and very feral shape. It was born due to a fear I have. When I regained control over my symbiote, I heard a roar.”
Eddie stopped for a second, as fear showed in his face as he relived the nightmare. However, he decided to finish talking. “The roar, which I found the source of in my nightmare, was Venom. But, he was monstrously bulky and feral. He attacked, and I barely managed to fight before something ensnared me by the neck. It was Scream, the daughter of Venom made by the Life Foundation. Venom's mask retracted....And it was my dad, bonded to the symbiote again. I caught a glimpse of Scream's face, and it was my mother..... This was born due to a fear I have of them being forcefully bonded. Then, my dad killed me in the dream. Due to it being reality for me, and my death in it, that is why I woke up.” Looking up at them, he hoped they did not see the despair and fear in his eyes.
Eddie was a bit relieved when the medical team got here, as he was beginning to feel even more adverse effects. His immune system had lost some more of its edge, meaning he was more vulnerable right now. However, within a few days, he'd be back to his usual healthy self. As they put him on the crash-cart, Eddie corrected Anna. “Osborn's Cure only gives adverse affects to the Anti-Venom symbiotes. Other symbiotes are empowered by it for some reason. My father explained it to me. And it only has worse effects on me because the symbiote isn't just bonded to me. When I was born, my DNA was sixty five percent human. The first two Helix's of my DNA are human, and only sixty five percent human. The third Helix and remaining thirty five percent is symbiote, meaning I take more damage from anything that affects the symbiote... Lucky it's immune to sonic and fire.” Chuckling at this and what Anna said, he said “I think I need some bed rest.”

Kate rubbed at her temple with one hand, trying to soothe a growing headache. Anna looked fine, and though Kate wasn’t pleased with how things had gone Anna had followed through with her plan and stopped the robbery. Perhaps no worry was needed for her for the time being. But Eddie had just told her that he had died.
Her headache was allowed now surely after that mini panic attack there.
She sighed softly then focused intently on Eddie’s explanation. He was good at that, always had an explanation for everything. And Kate definitely need an explanation for what he had said. His dream was reality… And from the sounds and movements he had been making said dream had not been him riding on a rainbow or such like – more of a nightmare. Indeed, Eddie went on to talk about what had happened. God, definitely a nightmare.
”How are you feeling now? Any lasting effects? Any…” she paused, trying to think of any after-effects of such an event. But she couldn’t recall being faced with such a thing before and was at a loss to go over and inspect it, rooting for details or clues about what had happened, and if Anti Venom was alright now. She needed Eli and Jonas.
She stepped back and allowed the medical team to get closer, and watched carefully as Anna placed Eddie on the cart. One day, she really needed to sit down with Eddie and talk to him about how he knew all this stuff… It was a little scary, his knowledge but in this situation it would help him greatly. The medical team would be happy to have a little more information about what they were dealing with.
The dream… His death – her thoughts kept springing back to him saying that. It had been an awful moment. Though of course Eddie was alive, Kate had been scared for a moment. Dreams often had meanings – though she wasn’t one to put a lot of faith in things such as prediction dreams, she did understand that thoughts and repressions could sometimes only come into light when sleeping. And Eddie’s was rather specific.
”Make sure to rest, yeah? Don’t even try saying your back to normal straight away and getting out of the med bay, otherwise myself and Eli will be dragging your ass back, got it?” She then relaxed and gave the pair a slight smile, ”Well… I’m not exactly sure what I’m going to do with the pair of you but… You both seemed to have survived. I’ll give you points there. Just don’t do it again. Otherwise I’ll kill you myself.” Though she was joking her tone on the last sentence was unclear about that.

Anna rolled her eyes as Eddie corrected her, then nodded to the med-techs. "Yeah, nevermind, do what he says instead - he's got an encyclopedia on icky goop creatures welded to his brain." Stepping back from the stretcher, she almost stepped on the knock-off Scorpion she'd brought in with her, still out cold on the floor. Yeesh, almost forgot it was here... "Oh, and can some of you take this guy away? There's some nasty weapon systems in the armour that we should be worried about, and there has to be some way of separating the man inside from the machine - and you know me, I have the delicate touch of a rhino." She skipped aside as five labcoated men gathered around the cyborg and leaned down...
...and leaned back up again a minute later without much happening. This is why I wanted Banner here. Less of a wimp. "Uh, don't sweat it, guys, I'll take it down to floor 14 myself later."
Anna heard Kate clear her throat, and spun back around to face her team leader, face hardening into a sombre expression once more, almost guilty to have been relaxing and smiling for a moment there. Unprofessional. This is still a dressing-down, treat it as such! Amazingly, Hawkeye actually smiled, but Anna kept herself stood at attention nonetheless as she spoke, and even after she finished with a fairly alarming comment. Was that a joke? Anna couldn't tell; she wouldn't put it past Hawkeye to try and kill her one day if she was in a particularly foul mood.
"Thank you, ma'am, for your understanding. Permission to leave now? I promise I won't go flying into another uneven fight with killer robot arachnids."

Eddie looked up, and forced out a weak chuckle when Anna said about him having an encyclopedia of Symbiotes glued to his brain. “Its not glued. I only know this stuff about symbiotes because my dad told me. That, and the symbiote has genetic memory, allowing it to recall memories and abilities through Ancestral Recall. Mine retains this ability even though its not the original Anti-Venom Symbiote, or even the original Venom Symbiote.”
Eddie's symbiote always pumped the information he needed on symbiotes, because it was an instinct. But something was wrong. Eddie could hear a whisper. Release the inner symbiote ! Looking around, Eddie said nothing out loud, but he began to probe his mind fully. The whisper hadn't been out loud. It had been a mental and internal whisper, and it had sounded like his own voice, but in a deeper voice.
Eddie mentally probed his entire mind, and he found that there was nothing else in his mind apart from his own thoughts. Shrugging it off, he muttered “I'm delirious.” He had said this quietly though, as he didn't want Kate or Anna to worry any more than the worry he had probably already caused them. When Kate asked how he was feeling, and if there would be any lasting affects, Eddie shrugged a bit. “In all honesty, I feel absolutely terrible. I hate that super toxic “Anti-Venom” cure that Norman Osborn made all those years ago. And, well....I have no idea if there will be any lasting effects. Yes, I may be shaken up, but I will recover.”
Rubbing his face, Eddie looked at the Scorpion. He then looked up at the ceiling, and his eyes closed for a split second. The minute his eyes closed fully, he saw the roaring face of Venom, and he jerked up a bit. “Sleeping won't be easy for a while.”
Looking up at the ceiling again, Eddie's mind began to try and drift back into sleep. But, it was not coming easy to him. He may have died in his dream, but he would be alive at some point in another version of his dreams. For now, his sleep would be dreamless and he would be fine. Kate's last few comments caused him to raise an eyebrow. “Kate, please be joking. That would be quite unprofessional if you actually meant that.” Giving her a small grin, he said “Don't worry Kate, I have a feeling that its a joke. Next time I will be careful.” Leaning back in the crash cart, Eddie tried to get some inner peace to get rid of the visions of Venom and Scream that he saw whenever he closed his eyes.
