Gasping as he walked through the grounds of the Xavier institute, Jamie looked at his hands, his vision blurring a tiny bit. Stumbling forward, Jamie knew what was wrong. For the last three days, he had been missing his dosage of NZX-12. He had been trying to wean himself off of his dependency on the drug, as he wanted to try and use his peak human strength on its own. But, it wasn't working. He was already becoming paranoid and sick, and the headaches were getting worse each day since he had missed his dosage. He knew that if he continued to miss his dosages, he'd be dead within a few weeks, maybe even less. In his pocket, there were a few of the pills, in case he decided to get back on the drug soon.
As he was about to talk another step, Jamie fell to his knees, gasping and retching. The drug's side effects if you tried to wean yourself off of it. He had to continuously take it, otherwise he'd become very sick, and even more sick than he was at the minute. Managing to get back onto his feet, he stumbled towards a bench, barely holding down the urge to vomit. Sitting on the bench, he held his head in his hands, taking several deep breathes so he could try and get his body under control. But, in truth, only one thing could help him and make him feel better. And that was taking his dosage. But, if he took it he would just be proving that the guys who had forced him to take it the first time were right, that it was like the OZ formula used by Norman Osborn back in previous years.
Coughing, Jamie tried to think, but his ability to think was also less clear. The withdrawal also caused his body and mind to lose focus, limiting his natural abilities. Looking down, he said “Why?! Why did this ever happen to ME!” He yelled the last bit, and he nearly threw up, as he had forgot to fight down the urge to vomit.

Rebecca LeBeau peered cautiously out of the main doors of the Xavier Institute. Looking to the right and then to the left, she made sure that no one else was about - no one else meaning the teachers. Rebecca was grounded at the moment, due to a case of sneaking out at night. Night could be fairly boring at the Institute, so it wasn't all her fault if she left to go find some people. She was used to wandering about with her father, never staying in one place.
When she was sure the coast was clear, she quickly moved outside, and shoved her hands deep into her pockets looking about again. Ray only wanted a quick stroll about before heading inside. Just some time to clear her head.
Hopping down the steps, the young girl followed the gravel path that led towards the maze. Maybe she'd go through it today - it was always peaceful and quie-- Ray blinked, startled by a sudden shout. Okay, perhaps it wasn't going to be as quiet as it usually was. Starting to run, Ray followed the path around the side of the mansion before skidding to a stop. Sitting on a bench, looking as though he was going to throw up was a boy, perhaps about her age. Taking another step closer, Ray recognized him as Jamie, the boy who had just arrived really.
He'd been placed in her group, GeNext, but she hadn't really talked to him. She didn't think many of the other members had either... Not so good. Frowning, she rushed over to him, not sure what to do or say. "Hey! Hey, are you alright? What's happening?" She could see the pain in his face, but there just didn't seem to be anything physically wrong with him. She looked about frantically, but there still wasn't any teachers in sight. Good for her, perhaps bad for the boy.
"This is so not my week..."

Jamie began to cough violently, and a minute passed with him coughing violently and trying to get his coughing under control. The withdrawal of the drug didn't just strip him of his Super-Human powers he gained from it, it caused his immune system to become gradually weaker, and his natural abilities to fade. That was the main reason that you needed to take it was that, if you stopped taking it, you;d be dead within a month, due to your immune system becoming weaker each day you missed your dosage. The ones that Jamie had been taking had been a modified version of the original one, allowing someone to go longer without a dosage. But, Jamie didn't care about thinking of this. He just needed to try and solve this problem about his addiction before it killed him.
Jamie looked up as he saw a girl walking towards him, asking if he was alright and what was happening. This brought up an on going mental debate Jamie had. He never knew if he should tell the people at the institute that he was on a drug that gave him the bulk of his Super-Human powers? Tell them that the only true power he had was precognition? And he always decided against telling them. He knew that the telepathics would figure it out, due to them being able to read his mind. He had learned not to think about the drug around telepathics. Looking at the girl, he saw it was Ray, also known as Rebecca Lebeau. She was on the same team as him, GeNext, and he had barely spoke to her or any of the others.
Rubbing his face, Jamie said “Well, you see.....I'm generally healthy......And right now I am sick. Its something that is a bit stupid, something to do with something that happened in my past.” Rubbing his face, Jamie began to cough again, and he forced himself to stop coughing. However, he began to wheeze a bit. Kneeling forward and pressing his hands onto his knees, he took deep breathes, to both try and clear his lungs up a bit, and to suppress the urge to vomit. Looking at Ray, he said in a quiet voice “First time we've talked properly Ray.”

Ray looked him over again, hoping that whatever was happening wasn’t serious and that things would be okay soon. It was probably a dumb hope – things never just got okay like that. ”Yeah, I can see that you’re sick… You look awful.” She paused and winced. ”Oh, god, that sounded bad. I didn’t mean it like that. And now I’m rambling instead of focusing on you, jeez. Sorry.”
Her worried and curious eyes trained in on him as he began to cough. He didn't sound good, and was still extremely pale. What exactly was wrong with him? Migraine? That could affect people like this. Jeez... If she had her brother's powers - at least the ones he had at the moment - then she could read his mind and just know what was going on. But nope. She didn't.
(god god hes dying on me not good he’ll be okay he will its fine please be fine)
Her mind was racing as she hoped again that he was alright. Soon enough the coughing died down, but there he was still wheezing. Frowning, Ray then let out a soft laugh and nodded, ”Yeah. It is. Seems to be going well so far, huh?”

Jamie had two options available to him. Either continue to miss his dosage and eventually die, or take his dosage and continue to take it until a counter drug was made....which could potentially take years. While he had a very big stash, he knew it would eventually dwindle and he'd die someday, either due to a fight or due to withdrawal. He wanted to be able to get rid of the side-effects some day, and keep his Super-Human abilities he gained from the drug without having to take it any more. Coughing, he decided he was going to take his dosage, even if he didn't want to. This was because he had to, or he would die soon.
The young mutant slipped his hand into his pocket, and grabbed one of the packets of NZX-12. They were in small packets, and there was one pill in each. Pulling it out, he said “Ray, keep this secret. This isn't some harmful, illegal drug...Its legal, and it is helping me.” Ripping the packet open, he gulped down his pill.
After two minutes, Jamie felt the euphoric sense of power from the drug come forth. He felt a lot better now that he had taken it. Looking at Ray, he said “My only natural power is Precognition, being able to see in the future. But, the drug I just took is called NZX-12. When I turned sixteen, I was kidnapped by scientists from the company my dad worked at. I was forced to take a drug that enhances someone's human attributes, like strength and speed, to Super-Human levels. For me, however, my strength was boosted further than usual, as without the drug, I've got peak human strength. I've been taking the drug for a year, and I'm hooked. I can't stop taking my dosage without the effects you saw. I'm confiding in you because I trust you Ray. Please don't tell anyone.”
