Ability:
-Size Reduction:Due to long term exposure to Pym Particles, Laura can reduce her size to that of a Wasp, roughly 1/2 an inch. She is given the ability to retain her actual mass at this size or not, her strength is also boosted at height she is able to bend a steel bar at least twice.
-Flight:Due to small implanted wings Laura can fly at at least 40 mph at her reduced height, the wings stay till she's at least a foot of her actual height.
-Wasp Sting:is able to generate bio electric blast from her hands which can blast through concrete and cause pain to even superhumanly strong people.
-Insect Communication and Control:Laura has the ability to control and communicate with certain higher insects.
-Size Addition:In addition to being able to shrink Laura can grow to amazing sizes as well.

Physical Description:
Laura is short standing at 5'1 and weighing 110 lbs that is when she's not changing size to fight crime. She is very pretty but often wears make up due to her modelling career though tries not to go too heavy on the make up. Usually Laura is described as petite. She id pale, not sickly pale but her skin is lighter than most and it irritates her to no end. Laura is often said to resemble her mother Janet Van Dyne since they shares brown eyes and auburn colored hair.For clothing style, Laura shops regularly so she is always wearing the latest fashions rarely is she ever wearing clothing like plain sweats and a t-shirt. She thrives to be the best dressed in the room and the object of attention.

As Wasp, Laura's costume resembles her mothers greatly, though Laura wears Wasp goggles which her father wore when her used the name Wasp. Laura changed the goggles slightly she changed the lenses to a goldish yellow and made the frame completely black. In order that it matched her costume a little bit better, her wings are like wasp wings.
Personality:
Laura is usually described as having a fiery personality and blithe attitude toward life. She just wants to enjoy her youth and have fun, focussing more on what is happening this exact moment then what is happening in the future or what has happened in the past. Not to say she is some ritzy airhead heiress, Laura does help out in charities and shares her father's genius. Though Hank Pym isn't something that Laura likes discussing she has a bad relationship with her father and tends to be in a darker mood when Hank is mentioned.

Laura does like being a hero, she likes helping people whenever she can but she doesn't want it to be the only thing going on in her life either. She doesn't want to be just defined as Wasp she also wants to be remembered as Laura Van Dyne.

History:
It wasn't some huge secret that Hank had mental break downs at times, and when this breakdowns took place his aggression was taken out on his wife Janet Van Dyne. Out of love Janet always stood by Hank no matter how bad it got (not without an effort to fight back mind you). But when Janet found herself pregnant she had to think about her baby as well as herself. When she no longer could hide the pregnancy anymore Janet told Hank of her pregnancy. To her surprise Hank took the news well and was actually excited to be a father. The months Jan was pregnant went without incident Hank becoming nothing short than a doting and supporting husband. On June Eighteenth, Jan gave birth to Laura Alastriner Van Dyne, for a time the three of them were happy but they didn't stay this way.

By the time Laura was five fighting and tensions had risen between Hank and Janet, often about Hank feeling inferior with the Avengers and even his own place in the home. When Hank snapped once again and pushed Laura against a wall Janet knew it was time to leave. She left with Laura to the Avengers mansion to file divorce proceedings. During this time Laura grew up with the Avengers growing to be a beloved member of the family while Jan acting as their leader, once again things were going well. Laura's father came back into the picture and reconciled some with Jan, though Laura maintained a slight fear of him. Sometime later Janet died in the skrull invasion meaning Laura had to go back and live with Hank despite protests from some of the Avengers.

When Laura moved back in with Henry their relationship did not really improve. Though he no longer had mental break downs Laura still didn't forgive him for what he had done but remained at the Avengers Academy none the less. When she became a teenager, Laura discovered she had a mutation, the ability to grow wasp like wings from her back, communicate with insects and size alteration. The same abilities her parents possessed. Hank believed due to the long term effects he and Janet experienced with Pym particles that they were inscribed in their daughters Dna, only to manifest during puberty. Laura eventually got used to her powers and grew to love them training with the rest of the students at the Avengers Academy till she graduated becoming a solo hero. Laura took the codename Wasp in honor of her mother Janet.
