ANNABELLE LANE DANVERS
Name: Annabelle (Anna) Lane Danvers
Age: 21
Gender: Female
~~~~~
Codename: Warbird
Ability: Inheriting a unique cross-breeding of her parents' part-human-part-not DNA has resulted in every cell of Anna's body being constructed from ionic matter and capable of functioning as a multi-purpose, high-storage capacitor of sorts. This gives her a high level of physical invulnerability, capable of resisting bullets, explosions, blades and impacts without picking up so much as a scratch. She can still feel pain and be stunned, but can shrug off the kind of damage that would incapacitate normal or even peak humans with ease.
Additionally, she can absorb energy from her surroundings in many different forms. Fire, light, radiation, even friction and pure kinetic force from being struck; she can drain the power harmlessly into her body. However, the absorption must be triggered by conscious thought, rather than being 'always on'. Generally speaking, if Anna can see it, her reflexes are quick enough to trigger her absorption factor in time.
The stored energy within Anna's body is used to power her other abilities, including superhuman strength (press up to 70 tons normally), emitting photon blasts (destructive light beams) from her hands or eyes, and flight, with her highest recorded speed being mach 2. The exact potency of her powers is dependent on her energy level; the more she takes in, the more she can put back out again. When approaching particularly high levels of charge, Anna's skin changes to visibly glowing, crackling violet matter as her father's was prone to do.
Weakness-wise, prolonged exposure to extreme cold can sap the power from Anna's body, as can simply being away from a fresh energy source for too long (although that is rarely a problem). When her energy levels drop, Anna's strength, flight and photon-blast abilities fade, and she becomes extremely drowsy and has trouble thinking straight. Her invulnerability persists, but at a lower ebb; a strong enough attack can cause lasting damage to her in this state. Additionally, certain sonic frequencies can destabilise her ionic mass, which can result in as little as nausea or as much as her entire body splitting into its constituent molecules. Though her mind can reassert itself and lead to her 'willing' her body back into shape, the experience is extremely painful for Anna. Lastly, ionic energy weapons set to the opposite polarity of her body can cause severe damage to Anna, as was the case with her father.
Anna has graduated from the Avengers Academy at Camp Hammond with flying colours, and is fully grounded in combat, teamwork and strategic planning. She also learned a thing or two more about hurting people from her mother.
Group: Avengers/sponsored and co-employed by Chrysalis Inc.
~~~~~
Status: Good/Neutral (she is by definition a hero, but spends a lot of her time working for Martin Findlay-Lewis, so shares his neutral position)
Occupation: Qualified superheroine, PR spokeswoman for Chrysalis Inc.
Physical Description:
Anna is tall for her age at 5'10", and sports a slender physique with modest curves. Her Caucasian skin typically sports a healthy, even tan, and is luxuriously smooth, with no obvious scarring. Her legs are especially long, which is where most of her height comes from. She is a natural blonde, and typically lets her hair fall past her shoulders in wavy curves. She has bright blue eyes and perfect teeth, complementing model-quality looks, but the angles of her face, particularly around her nose and at her cheekbones, are surprisingly sharp and hard.
On those rare occasions when she isn't working, Anna is content to slouch around in ratty jeans and an ill-fitting band t-shirt. She cares little for make-up, but thanks to her status as a "walking Chrysalis billboard" (her own words), she is typically seen with tasteful levels of eye shadow and lipgloss that accentuate her looks in just the right way. When on-call as Warbird, Anna wears a variant of one of her mother's old costumes, sporting a black all-in-one catsuit supported by gunmetal-silver lightweight armour panels across the chest, shoulders, forearms and thighs. These panels aren't so much for protecting Anna as they are for shielding the multitude of bio-sensors held within the suit, which keep track of Anna's physical condition in every measurable way and transmit the data back to a monitoring centre within Chrysalis HQ. One of the forearm units also contains a holographic communications suite and a special A.I. that filters through all emergency reports across the entire globe and provides Anna with heads-up warnings on which crisis needs dealing with next, and where to find it. The shoulders are decorated with the lightning-bolt crest associated with her mother's best-known look. Additionally, despite her identity being public knowledge, Anna chooses to wear a sharply-angled domino mask around her eyes.
Personality:
Anna is a very strong-minded girl who doesn't think twice about letting everyone know her opinion, and has no problem arguing her side against anyone who wants to take issue with it. She makes fast judgements and likes to deal with problems equally quickly, usually in the most direct manner possible. When it comes to her work as a superheroine, she's a perfectionist, always pushing herself harder from one day to the next, and gets quickly frustrated with anyone who can't keep up.
Despite all that, Anna treats her friends well, and her highly-strung attitude is solely rooted in her unswerving dedication to justice. When caught in her spare time, she's much more mellow and easier to deal with, prone to goofball humour and slackerly mannerisms. Her family is the single most important thing in her life, and that includes the good friends she refers to as family despite not actually being related. If they were to ever be in peril, no force in the universe could stop Anna from rushing to their side.

Parents: Carol Danvers, aka Ms. Marvel (mother), Simon Williams aka Wonder Man (father)
Siblings: None known
History:
It was following the fall of the Serpent and the failure of his quest to besiege Asgard that, after a long night spent drinking with their fellow Avengers whilst honouring those heroes fallen in battle, the two superhumans known as Ms. Marvel and Wonder Man found themselves stumbling back into the former's apartment locked in a lover's embrace. This wasn't the first time they had been intimate with one another, but it would turn out to be the last.
Within a few weeks, Carol Danvers began experiencing morning sickness. She dismissed it as a stomach bug for a time, content to believe that there was no way she could have gotten pregnant from a man whose entire body was made of ionic energy, but when her condition refused to clear up, she nervously paid a quiet visit to Dr. Hank 'Beast' McCoy, accompanied only by her closest friend Jessica Drew, just to make sure. Of course, it turned out that Carol was pregnant after all, and this scared her senseless. The last time she'd had a child, it had been a clone of a man who had twisted her mind and abused her against her will; the memory of that nightmarish experience still haunted her sometimes, and the thought of it happening again - ! Luckily, Jessica was able to keep her friend calm and talked her out of an abortion. Despite her doubts, Carol agreed to at least let the child be born, though inwardly she was already thinking over potential adoptive parents.
The father, Simon Williams, was every bit as shocked as Carol was by the news. Having never been much of a family man, he had little clue what to do next, though he did offer to marry Carol if that would make the baby more comfortable. It was often joked that the slap she gave him in response caused minor earthquakes in neighbouring states. Despite their long-standing friendship, the upcoming baby made things awkward between Carol and Simon, and through unspoken agreement Simon became a minimal presence during the pregnancy. That said, he made a point of coming to the hospital when Carol finally went into labour, and cried right alongside her when the doctors handed over the little bundle of joy that would be named Annabelle Lane Danvers, after a long-gone childhood friend of Carol's.
As soon as the little girl could talk, she insisted on being called 'Anna' because she thought her name was too long and dumb. Anna spent many of her formative years at or around the Avengers, and liked to treat Stark Tower as her own personal adventure playground, finding special delight in playing with the 'funnier' members of the team, such as Beast and the Vision. She had memorised the team's history, from its humble beginnings to its high-tech modern incarnations, every heartening victory and frightful loss, before she'd left Kindergarten. And all that time, her own metahuman abilities were developing quickly, leading to her uncontrollably floating 15 feet in the air for extended periods, and that one time she zapped Spider-Man in the face. It was an accident, albeit one she laughed at for hours afterward.
As she entered her teenage years, Carol took a more hard-edged approach to Anna's continued studies, successfully hammering discipline and self-control into her daughter's head. There were tearful episodes along the way, and some of the other Avengers questioned whether Carol was being too harsh, but Anna stayed the course - and if anything, the bond between mother and child was only strengthened by these trials. At the same time, Anna's relations with her father became increasingly distant, as she wondered why he could be so willing to put aside his heroic duties in favour of working in the film industry. Simon, alas, was never really able to give her a good answer. Anna much preferred talking with Jessica Drew, whom she now called 'Aunt Jess', especially when it came to the subject of her mother's more scandalous war stories.
When she entered the Avengers Academy after high school, Anna already had a head-start over the other trainees, something that won her precious few friends but impressed all her tutors. Commenting on her marksmanship exam, James 'War Machine' Rhodes wrote, "Miss Danvers isn't getting an A+ because she can hit a bullseye through the eye of a needle while a tornado spins around her. She's getting an A+ because she can do it as many times as she likes." Graduating at the top of her year, the future seemed clear for Anna...but after two years of service with the Avengers, a new wrinkle entered her life in the form of Martin Findlay-Lewis. They met by chance one day as he was visiting Stark Tower for a chat with its owner, the now-retired Iron Man, and Anna got a strange feeling in her gut when she looked at him. Then they started to talk, and when he spoke of his dreams, the passion and sincerity in his voice won her over.
Since then, Anna has taken the name Warbird in tribute to her mother, and has split her time between aiding the Avengers and working as a solo heroine on behalf of Chrysalis. The publicity demands aren't her cup of tea, but she understands the need for them - and if it'll help Martin bring his plans forwards, it's worth it.
