SIMON DOUG AQUILLA
Name: Simon Doug Aquilla
Age: 29
Gender: Male
~~~~~
Codename: Flare
Ability:
His parents both being mutants, it was always believed that Simon would become one as well – the question was would he take on his mother Amara’s powers, or his father Manuels.
In the end it was discovered that it was his mother he took after.
Simon has geothermal powers – which grant him quite a few abilities. He can control the movement of tectonic plates in the ground, which could cause earthquakes. Usually he moves them only slightly to cause trembles as moving them to often would cause problems outwith his control – such as tsunamis, and even earthquakes can go out of control.
Also, he has the ability to call forth magma from the earths core then using these as projectiles. He can summon them and create the lava in his hands if he concentrates greatly, but it’s easier for him to be outside and bring the magma up through the earth as moving magma costs less energy than creating it, itself. His preference is to bring magma up out of the earth and then use these as fire-balls or a source of light if necessary.
Much like his mother he can also assume an energized form, though unlike his mother he does not need to shift into this to use his power and rarely does so as when in this state he can’t control the heat he emits and could melt things or harm people.
Simon has an immunity to volcanic gases and substances.
When in contact with the earth he has regenerative powers. These do only work when outside or on the ground floor of a building. And depending on the strength within him and seriousness of the wound even this healing ability may not work.
Group: X-Men
~~~~~
Status: Good
Occupation:
- Teaches at Xaviers. He teaches drama, and runs a drama club as an extracurricular activity for students
Physical Description:
Simon isn’t the tallest bloke, nor is he the widest. He’s average height for those his age, and he has a wiry build. He’s built for agility and not for strength. Usually he wears suits, because for him they’re just comfy and classy. Comfy mainly. And suits work in nearly every occasion he’s been in – granted most of them are just at the school.
Personality:
Many people would call Simon crazy. And sometimes they would be right – that’s pretty fair. He’s enthusiastic, and cheery – and he always speaks his mind. And what’s on his mind is never whats on anyone elses mind. He’s good at coming up with witty remarks, and getting out of tricky situations. He’ll always say what you would never expect anyone to say. Ever. And the way he says it, it just feels right.
Mainly, Simon is kind and generous. He doesn’t usually say a bad thing about anyone – so if he does, then you know something just isn’t right. He’ll gladly help out someone in need and try his best to solve problems, making sure he clearly states what’s going on.
He’s also smart, getting good grades at school. He’s not a genius, though he can be fairly smart when he wishes to be.

History:
When long time lovers – and sparring partners at times – Manuel and Amara got together, Simon became their one and only child. He was bubbly from the moment he was born, and was reckless as well. As a kid, if there was something to fall on him or something to break, Simon would head right for it. There were quite a few instances when those things did fall on him – and his father still blames these events on the enthusiastic and sometimes over-dramatic way Simon is today.
At school he made a large circle of friends – more acquaintances really. There were only a few people he was actually close to. As for school work, when he applied himself he could do rather well, but he was more interested in having a laugh – and studying only enough so that he could pass any exams that came his way.
When he was thirteen he accidentally turned into his energized form, burning his way through his bed and then through the floor. Though scared by his first time going into his mutation, he felt quite comfortable with it after that – his mother did have the same abilities as him. And both his parents were mutants as well, and therefore knew what he was dealing with.
After finishing that year at his normal school – it was only a month left, though a few accidents did occur in that time – he then transferred to Xaviers. There he formed new friends again, just as quickly as at other schools. Once again he also took more pride in making others laugh than doing actual school work, but he soon got into a routine and did well at the school.
After finishing, he travelled Europe with a couple of friends for a year before heading back to Xaviers to take up a teaching position.
