KATHERINE "KATE" ELIZABETH BISHOP
Name: Katherine "Kate" Elizabeth Bishop
Age: 26
Gender: Female
~~~~~
Codename: Hawkeye
Ability: Kate has no super-human abilities, and so of course, at times she is usually outmatched by those around her when she fights.
However she is well-trained in hand-to-hand combat. She has a high level of skill in sword fighting - both with the heavy broadswords and light fencing swords. However, her real skill lies in archery. Training hard and with a good deal of focusing her archery skills are almost unmatched.
Kate also has a large quantity of fighting equipment - such as Clint Barton's bow, Mockingbirds battle staves and mock arrows (some given to her by Black Panther) which she took back after becoming part of the full-time Avengers.
Group: Avengers
::This Section Is For Everyone::
Status: Good
Occupation: Works full-time with the Avengers, organising events and press-conferences too keep the public in touch with the heores, and to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Physical Description:
After many years of rigorous training, and healthy dieting, Kate has a slim and elegant figure. She's athletic and flexible - something she hasn't lost..
Kate keeps her slinky black hair long. Most of the time she keeps it loose, but when she knows things are about to go down and there is gonna be fighting involved, she ties it back in a loose and high pony-tail.
Clothing wise, Kate can afford to buy the best. But she doesn't. She picks things up that suit her, and usually they aren't the pricey things.
Personality:
Kate can shift easily between being quiet and calm to loud and angry - in just the blink of an eye.
She knows what she wants and she learns, tries, and figures out ways to acheive them. Kate doesn't back down or let anyone know that she's in trouble unless it's absolutely necessary. This is due to her not wanting to cause others trouble, but also due to the fact that she does not want to appear weak - even though deep down she knows asking for help isn't weak. She does know the value of teamwork though, and when the going gets tough she works well with others to reach a goal.
Kate gives generously to many charities - an act of kindness that has been with her from a young age. Wealth has always made her uncomfortable, and therefore she rarely uses money on things she feels she 'wants'. Instead the money helps with needs - such as things for the Avengers.
However, though she is kind and cares a lot about her teammates - and everyone else really, Kate isn't usually afraid to speak her mind. When something is wrong, she calls it out. She doesn't back down - she's stubborn in that respect.
History:
Kate was born to the incredibley wealthy Derek Bishop - a publishing magnate - and his wife Eleanor. Brought up in considerable comfort, Kate never fdelt at home with the richness, and after taking a hint from her mother she gave money generously to charities and also volunteered her time to help at soup kitchens and women's shelters amongst other worthy causes. When her mother was killed, her need to help others was fuelled and she actively participated in helping others even more.
Later on, Kate was attacked and raped in Central Park. Her father made sure she had the best therapy that money could buy, but she also undertook intensive physical fitness and self-defence training - because her strong-will wanted to make sure that something like that could never, ever happen again.
Kate started participating in archery, fencing, kick-boxing and various other martial arts at her upscale private school, the Hawthorne Academy, and at the Interlochen National Music Camp.
During Kate's sister's wedding - a major social event, that took place at New York's St Patrick's Cathedral - five gunmen held the guests hostage, and the police cornered them inside. This was when the novice group the "Young Avengers" entered Kate's life for the first time. They ended up subduing most of the gunmen, but Kate still joined in the fight. This resulted in her getting a gun pointed at her head - but she then used one of Patriots throwing stars to take down her assilant. This "Heroics" made the news, and Cassie lang sought her out to help her track down the Young Avengers.
Wanting to help and be part of something, Kate agreed and the two girls tracked them to the ruins of the olf Avengers Mansion, where the senior Avengers were trying to convince the group to disbanden. carefully watching as Iron Man unlocked the doors, Kate made sure to memorise the codes and later on used the passcodes to free Cass and the other YA's. She scavenged them costumes from previous Avengers as well as weapons - this was the first time that she took Clint Barton's bow.
Kate pushed the YA's to stay together and she also used her father's funds to buy them new costumes and weapons - as well as buying them their own headquarters. When Patriot left the group she went on to act as the leader.
Later on, after standing up to Captain America she was given the name "Hawkeye" and she once again took back Clints bow.
The bow was then lost to her when she discovered that Cint Barton was back from the dead. Challenging him to split an arrow she bet the bow as the reward. When Clint 'did the impossible', Kate lost her identity (the name Hawkeye) and her bow. In turn, she found some comfort inTommy Shepherd (slightly recent addition to the group) and she stole the bow back from Clint.
To Clint her methods, and determination proved she was worthy - as he had known from the first time he saw her. She was given back her bow, as well as a picture of a few of the first Avengers.
From then on Kate remained a valuable part of the team, fighting with the YA's in the underground movement led by Captain America in the superhero Civil War. During that time, she met the Runaways - another group of young children, with abilities and powers. They fought well as a group and parted on good terms.
Though no longer a member of the Young Avengers, she has moved on with the rest of them to become The Avengers. Kate still plays a major role, training younger recruits, holding social events to gain publicity (or to gain information) and takes part in all major battles.
